Description

Government photos and press shots in the 40's recorded some of the iconic photos of our history, b/w of course.. One example is the auto and other factories converted to the war effort. "WE CAN DO IT" was symbolic of women in the work force, just as "Rosie the Riveter" was a strong piece of encouragement for women in the work force. In effort to restore and create a museum at the Willow Run B-24 Bomber Plant, Ypsilanti Township, Mich., Rosie is born again in volunteers. Norman Rockwell painted the well known "Rosie" character with a woman factory worker from Kentucky named Rosie as his model. The Rosie shown posed for this natural light photo( shot with digital camera of course). She was at the Secret City Festival in Tennessee this past weekend. A quick search will provide plenty of web info on the Willow Ridge Bomber Plant. This photo is from 2014. The ones from this year were not quite as well suited and "color correctness" of exhibit room lighting was iffy in the least.
