Description

south of Page,AZ please read below my ordeal to take this picture 15mm Canon fisheye lens I took free hand above my head with arms extended to avoid the cliff I was very nervous because of a lightning storm just to the south on the mountain not far away. when I was leaving there were parents bringing babies down there in a high volatile situation with lightning and hail less than a mile away. when I got to the crest of the mountain I was hit with a wall of rain/hail that was so intense the wipers could not handle it. about then the windshield was fogging up. I was trying to get the defroster going without taking my eyes off the road. however the road was covered with hail and my 4Runner started sliding around. I was actually on the wrong side of the highway but I was able to return to the proper lane before having a wreck. I was nervous as hell and glad to have drove out of the storm. I could not see to pull off the highway

First and foremost, I am glad you survived this adventure with no injuries. Secondly, this is one fantastic and cool capture - most impressive! thirdly, those parents who took their babies outside to 'experience' the area, should lose their parental rights and never be allowed to have children ever again. Repeat of number 2 - fantastic photo repeat of number 1 - so very glad you survived this little adventure - I guess that after this, you'll have no problems walking the path I presented.

Quite a scary situation! Sometimes nature can hit really hard, this week a mudslide wrecked some homes in southern Germany ... Great image, anyway, the colors and textures of these rocks are amazing!

Have never found pulling over to be good advice because who's going to see you there on the side of the road....until it's too late! The water looks very placid, nice image!

What a fantastic view and shot, taken under hard conditions. It sounds really dangerous. Good to hear that you get off there healthy and without any car body damage. This is something I have experienced when I was traveling in the Pyrenees in northern Spain. I had to stop the car on the highway, you could not see more than one meter distance and the car could not drive any more, so much water and hailstones were on the road. After half an hour of the nightmare was over.
