My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

This makes me want to get in there and examine them all individually! Great news about your eyes, Tara, but what a bummer about the computer.

Oh I remember some other old glass photos you posted that I loved. This is also quite fine. I am glad to hear your eyes are improving. Good luck and have fun learning the new system. Sorry you lost the old filters. But, I have great confidence in your abilities to race through the learning curve. :)

I've always liked glass bottle collections. How fun to have seen that. I'm so glad your eyesight is improving so much. Sorry about the computer problems. I feel you there, I type so much I blow through keyboards like crazy. This computer is only six months old and I'm missing three keys; and can't be repaired. Yea, crazy huh.

Lovely shot, and creative as always. Sorry about the computer problems, but hope your eyesight is getting better, Tara.

Good news on the eyes, not so much on the computer front. I hate when that stuff happens! At least you still have all your shots, the rest is all easy to remedy.

Wonderful News and Image!!!!

going back thru your foto files is like a trip down memory lane!! it's good to know you're recovering from your eye surgery; and getting new glasses is always fun!!! as for this shot, one of your classics; you do light SO well!!!

Here in 'OZ' it's Thursday today - therefore your appointment day with the dear 'Doc.' due ! - wishing you luck with the result, I am sure it's going to be OK ;)) and reading all about the details you are going through, brings back memories of my own eye ops. and 2 years later - VOILA - and it couldn't be better ;) BTW - what is it about old glass bottles ? I simply love and collect them, fascinating - (but only if I find them, by digging up the garden beds) ... and your pic (above) appears just like a priceless collection - in an old Apothecary ? fine work, Tara - take care ... A wonderful shot of all these lovely colorful bottles........and...........and...........OOOOOOO! I see an insulator! Bottom shelf, on the left, all lit up as if to say, "Here I am!!" Good news about your vision, Tara! So glad things are improving in that regard! It sucks when the computers get rebellious - had a few issues myself - I'm going to have to reformat-rebuild this machine eventually. Not sure why your filters don't work when they did before - I sometimes wonder if a bit of black magic is involved with these infernal machines.. Were you using Filter Forge? I think Photoshop is a lifetime sort of thing... I've been playing with it for years (since PS 4.0), and I feel like I've barely scratched the surface of what it can do. Poser as well..

Catching up on a couple of weeks worth of postings I missed. I've always liked glass reflection shots that introduce ambiguity by mixing in what you're seeing through the glass with what you're seeing reflected in the glass (which your title cleverly captures) & you're a master at these, Tara. And I can even see you holding your camera at bottom... Sorry to hear about your computer woes. Not that I'd ever purposely do it, but sometimes losing tools that you've gotten used to can free you up to explore other directions...

First of all I'm so happy that your eyes are better, Tara, of course a pity you have to learn photoshop again, but nevertheless you can do it. This image will be again one of mu favourites, it's such amazing to see all the different bottles, colours, the mood, and that kind of iron fence on the foreground. It's just perfect, Tara. Anyway, happy news, thank you for that, my friend.

Excellent capture with all those colors and transparencies

The textures, the shadows, the reflections make us think about a lot of stories behind these bottles!

Great lighting... And composition too... A really fashinating and evocative picture, one can figure there is some story to tell about that window

a beautiful muted shot of 'inwardness', with a feeling of an enclosed intimate space filled with keepsakes that must mean a lot to someone...that's how it feels in your capture. You caught the private, inner feeling of it all, and your treatment of the window mullions---bringing out their irregular white paint, which in turn accentuates their wonderfully non-perfect layout---brings out the sense of age here. Also, their irregularity makes the scene appear even more personalized and intimate: all feelings you capture extremely well. The layers of light and shade inside are beautiful, with a goodly portion of your deep reds and red-browns. And the bottles---esp on the left---feel painted there, which I love. Fine choice in including the left-most window, and the fence-tops in front (whatever they are). All wonderful additions to the shot. (Some may have left them out as too "messy," but when handled this well, they become part of the composition.) And the play of reflection and light over the interior makes it complex and multi layered. A beautiful job with glass and reflection once more, as well as with bottles. A glimpse of a shot, but truly grand. Beautiful work, Tara.
