Description

Captured 6/27/15 @ 8:34 am, hanging off of a street signal utility box. I took five shots of this scene on two separate days, and, despite my careful camera settings and postwork, the padlock still came out fuzzy. At least the shadow was in the perfect spot. Have a nice Fourth of July eve.

My Harry, that lock looks like it's been there some time. Looks about as old as the faded chalky paint on what it is it's securing. Nice catch!

Very cool positioning, Harry; don't you hate when the focus just won't go where you want it? Well spotted!!!

well, your camera may not have cooperated (giving you a faded padlock several times), but you still got a Harry padlock shot, and that's a gem every time. This is one of your minimalist padlock shots, with two bright walls, a few strong shadows, a wonderful diagonal pipe on the right (or post), and a padlock shadow playing a key role in the design. The fade on the padlock looks as if it didn't want to be photographed: It actually adds a new dimension to your padlock shots, because it has a reclusive, almost embarrassed look. Besides, you have some very stark detail and some faded detail, and the combination of the two make for a very interesting abstract. A fine piece of minimalist design, with a reticent padlock as the star. More fine work in this series, Harry...
