My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

It's been many years since I've been there - it looks as surreal as ever & especially appealing in the golden light in which it's lit in your photo...

Amazing rock formations! Beautifully captured.

One has to pay the earth for pieces of tufa here, as they are most desirable for inclusion in alpine gardens. I should love to have visited here!

Wolfenshire Online Now!
That's a really cool rock formation. I wish I could travel around in an RV and find cool stuff like that.

Very cool. It looks like some ancient fortification. Love the background and the color of the water. Many years ago, as the waters of Mono Lake began to recede, a land bridge to some of the islands was exposed. Humans had to dynamite it to keep predators away from the nesting birds. Thanks for sharing this. Mono Lake has just officially been added to my bucket list.

Lot of souvenirs of that fascinating place.
