Description

With the first 25 earth people getting settled into their new habitats, Reed takes Hermanus up onto the old Temple Ruins to get a briefing on his discoveries about the planet since the last time they were together. Hermanus has a lot to tell Reed. Reed is so enthused about Hermanus' progress, they talk for hours on end. Reed suddenly remembers he is talking to an android and takes a pause. As he reflects on the significance of the moment, a new appreciation dawns on him for Hermanus. 'You seem a lot more sophisticated since we first left you here. This planet seems to agree with you!' says Reed. 'Well, sir, I can't give the planet all the credit. The Knight, Sir Girard, had some of the best technicians aboard their spaceship run some diagnostics on me. They were very pleased with what they found and did a little bit of tweaking in some of my algorithms.' 'Well, I would have to say they certainly have improved your social skills. If I didn't know better, I would swear I was talking to another human. I mean that with all due respect.' 'That is okay, sir. I believe my abilities to grow in many areas of expertise have only begun to manifest themselves. Perhaps, if you'd like, we could meet every so often for you to see if you notice any more improvements in my abilities?' 'I'd like that Hermanus. And HP, you can call me Reed.'
