Description
Another one from the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The two on the right seem to have a kind of sinister look about them, as if they're hatching a dastardly plot...

Oh, I'm jealous. :) Only time I ever saw one in real life was at the Seattle Aquarium and the glass was far too dirty for a good shot. Well done!

They do look very strange

I love puffins; their colourations are wonderful. Excellent capture here!

You: "The two on the right seem to have a kind of sinister look about them, as if they're hatching a dastardly plot..." Well, the guy on the LEFT doesn't look to happy either, lol. They look like 3 outcasts not only masterminding a break-in somewhere, but who've been rejected by birds all their lives, and have decided to take their revenge. (The left guy is muttering, "how'm I gonna explain this to my wife...") Boy is your light and shade good here. You brought out the blacks and whites of the birds, and their rich oranges and yellows, so strongly, they jump out of the shadow around them. And when they're in front of lighter-hued rock, they glow: Witness the left-side dude: His face is a freakin' light bulb! Your wide crop is just right, and the composition of those two rocks beneath them---the 'ground'---is just right too. WIth a path above, leading to a dark, dark cave. (Maybe this is where all ID theft comes from...) Terrific. When this went up I thought, 'what a great bird capture'.
