Description

A sea otter at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. We actually got to see some sea otters in the wild frolicking in the ocean later that day at Point Lobos, but I couldn't get anywhere near this close. Shooting them at the aquarium was challenging, too, though, as much of the glass was either covered with water drops or steamed over & I had to find just the right spot to get a clear shot. They're fun to watch - both graceful & playfully energetic... Please zoom.

Superb closeup, and you would be safer in the wild being a bit distant. I heard that someone at Priest Lake, Idaho got bitten by an otter that chased her out of the water to do it!
