Description

Greetings Folks, Short break from Legends and I thought I'd put forth my nomination for the most beautiful Fighter ever designed.. Yep, I know, its not the fastest, it couldn't carry the heaviest but look at it.. Class lasts as they say, thee were still in service during the Arab - Israeli Wars.. And to prove the point, here is 'Miss Demeanor' a stunningly painted Hawker Hunter F.6, designed by the same man who designed the Hurricane and the Bi-plane delights, Fury, Hector etc.. You can still see the Hurri in its design shape, if it ain't broke don't change it! Just paint it! COOL! I'm sure there are others who will nominate their fav's I respect that, like most American's choice the Mustang over Spitfires, but if it had no Merlin.. think then... Not so good huh? I believe the Allison powered Attacker was a great ground Attack aircraft much under rated anyway, but that's another story lol So, here is a Hunter, taken of course at Duxford, and at the summer show this year, they have another and a Mig 15! Enjoy Rob

The Hunter was a great plane flown by many air forces right into the 1990s. Cool underside shot.

Right off the bat, before I forget, mate, my favs for the best fighter designs are the Lockheed P-38 Lightning, and the General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon. Second to them is any fighter with a delta wing. Otherwise, a fine capture of the Hawker Hunter, Rob.

While I don't follow aircraft that closely, I do have to admit that this bird is cool! Great capture

Beautiful shot and good view of details (like the "bullet holes", er, stars on the wings and tail). My brother was a term at Highgate school, north London, back in 1969. The students had military training certain weekends. The Royal Navy cadets came back rather green in the face (HMS Seasick was the name they gave the ship). The army fellows had either very sore feet and backs (infantry) or were bruised like mad (banged about inside Churchill tanks). The RAF cadets came back well fed and rested with a few flight hours in Hawker Hunter trainers. Ah, Airfix. I recall me assembling one of these, and my brother did one, too. Black plastic. Essentially no need to paint if the parts were carefully removed from the runners and carefully glued together. Thanks for the memories! Excellent photo! :-)
