Description
Sad but true, there is a war memorial to fallen veterans in almost every town and city in the United States. Most are imposing granite and bronze affairs.
The people of Palouse decided to go in a different direction to honor their home town boy who fell in battle. They planted a lovely little garden and a tree, something living, to honor their lost child.
The inscription reads:
This tree planted in memory of
Sgt. Jacob H. Demand
1/23 IN 1/14 Cav3-2 SECT
Born September 9, 1975
GPHS Class of 1995
Killed in Action in Iraq

Beautiful collage. What I appreciate most is "It's the life in your years." What do we fill our lives with? What value does it have for others? Keep up the good work. :-)
