Oh my goodness. That has to be the cutest baby ever in the history of the world! What a sweetie! It makes me want to hold her and make contact. I bet you're enjoying life right now! :) That's a wonderful picture. So intimate and lovely! As for the flute ... yes, I can play it. I played a regular flute in band as a teenager, and the bamboo flute uses the same skill set. The thing with bamboo though, is that you have to play it the way it IS, and not like something where you can hit every note you think you want. They're limited, and their limitations create what's beautiful about their sound.

yes, a beautiful baby, and a wonderful shot of Vika---she's beautiful; and what a beautiful capture of her face, all immersed in her thoughts while clinging to her mother. And a wonderful shot of Sonya, also holding her daughter close but immersed in her thoughts as well. A very thoughtful portrait of mother and baby, surrounded by all that luminous yellow! This kind of portrait says so much more than the usual baby portraits, which are made to look cute and get everyone to say "awwww". This has real love and truth in it. The whole piece is bathed in a kind of yellow, sunny light. And Sonya's and Vika's faces are lined up to make a perfect triangle---the old painting masters did this with madonnas and child, creating a triangle that embraced both. Beautiful, sunny, introspective portrait. And many congratulations to all of you, and great light and happiness to your brand new granddaughter!

No one ever tells me anything. Congratulations on your new granddaughter. She is adorable but seems to be a little skeptical of the camera.

Thanks so much, Mark!

A wonderful portrait! Family history in the making. Vika can look at this 50 years from now and warmly remember her loving grandfather. At least I don't think you or I will be around 50 years from now:-) Composition and lighting is perfect. By the way, can you believe Mandy will be 17 on the last day of August. I've never had a dog live so long.
nikolais
Thank you very much, Bill! Even if we will, we won't be able to appreciate that due to soeme natural causes. Glad Mandy proves to be a lady with a highest love of life. Let her carry on giving her love and content to you longer. End of August is the time of birthdays of mine, my elder daughter's and a few close friends of mine.

You have captured the look of a young and very caring [for the first time] Mother here perfectly Nikolay and the bonus - it's your own daughter Sonya ... a big enough reason to be joyful - isn't like another big miracle ? I am so happy for you and may the future for you and your family last a lifetime of many more loving miracles. BB ps. apologies for running a bit late again - but it still has the same sentiments - always your friend Brit ;))
nikolais
Thank you so much again, Brit!
