UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Oh, this is just off the scale, Bill! What a great photo - so colorful! If I'd seen this on the roadside, you just know I'd have something flying up to that arch....

yes, it's a gorgeous piece of nature. But man, your capture is Bill through and through. It's got all that grace, beautiful light and dark contrast, texture and areas without texture. You have both liberal amounts of grasses/shrubs/bushes, but also lots of space around them. Wonderful rich red-desert hues against deep greens and the luminous shadows under the arch (right under the arch, it looks like the arch is an ember still burning). And a total "flat" blue sky, that makes the landscape pop out beautifully. It's a big geological sandwich, with a real flow from left to right. And it has that "presence" that you get all the time: yhat perfected presence that is 'you' somehow embracing the whole as you give it to us. Technically, very fine and balanced, but filled with inner heart. Beautiful, Bill. I didn't even make a bad joke. Another beautiful upload from you, since your absence. You really now how to make magical pictures.

I remember walking Mandy and talking to those young women in high heels who had hiked up to the arch. :P Glad you got a picture, 'cause I think I was too busy! LOL! This is terrific, hon. :*

Beautifully composed desert landscape. I thought I recognized it as one of the arches I visited in Arches NP, but I guess I was wrong...

Nature creates some beautiful, amazing sights that's for sure.. And man then trashes them far quicker than it made them.. (notice the path being worn up there..) Stunning all the same... Well shot and great light! Rob
