Description

railroad over pass. there is a new bridge just out of sight. Jefferson and Marshal, Texas were Confederate strong holds of the Civil war providing many supplies for the senseless war. there should have not been slavery in the first place, but greedy people saw an opportunity to become wealthy at the expense of others. I would think that the majority of wars were fought because of the desire to be filthy wealthy by politicians on one side of the coin or both sides the only ones that benefit from war are those wealthy people (politicians) that are supplying materials/weapons to the military. also those people that steal the land afterwards.

Unfortunately, our railroad bridges look like this but not because a new one was built. We have seen a steady decline in the number of rail lines. I'm sure greed plays a role but the majority seem to be over ideological differences. My way or else. Also, I checked with a local astronomer and you are correct about the moon, Venus and Jupiter.

Fantastic color contrast in this photo. I rusty bridge looks like a shorter version of the bridge that I fished off of as a kid. I also agree about your views of senseless war and war mongers!

Nice shot of this old bridge and the lush growth around it. So many old ones torn down these days.

Lovely shot, but talk about an anachronism...This little rusted-out bridge simply doesn't look like it belongs in this beautiful bucolic setting. And, yes, you are correct about war/power/wealth. Wars are, for the greater part, based in economics--not so much for freedom (this freedom angle is fed to the unwitting, uneducated masses who lap it up like honey)...war is fueled by the economics for wealth (booty) which leads to power...The parties that won after the Vietnam War were all those involved in the Military Industrial Complex. Heck, the US Civil War had an underlying economic basis. After all, the African American slave was the engine for the Southern economy. The Southern plantation owners did not want to lose their economic manpower; but, the freeing of black slaves and the invention of the cotton gin really changed the economic profile in the South, and as it turned out with the invention and introduction of the cotton gin, slave labor was not really needed any longer. Queen Victoria even supported the South's war effort since England relied heavily on Southern cotton. Just about all human behavior/decisions are based on economics.
