Hi everybody,
My name is Dana Pommet and my wife’s name is Josephine. I was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts, in 1942, and except for a tour in the Navy, lived there for most of my life. I retired to Delray Beach, Florida in December 2000. We love to travel and photography goes hand and hand with that. I went digital about 5 years ago and started posting November 22, 2008. I have met so many wonderful people on RR and that makes this whole process so much more interesting than just posting photos. Thanks for all the comments and keep them coming.
Update  January 2012: After hiding and denying my mild Dyslexia, for most of my professional life, and now fighting with its advancement – I want to thank you all for putting up with my poor typing skills and spelling problems. I know that my spell checker hates me and I now depend completely on audio books rather then actually reading printed books.  Life marches on!  Â

WOW - this guy deserves all the accolades of mastering an art, which many couldn't - I mean he is definitely # 1 in my books !!! what a talent, I am glad you immortalized his work here, Dana - hope to see these the others as well ? BB

I do like a good sand sculpture and this is one of the best I've seen. I read up on how this is done and its quite an accomplishment to keep it all together until the artist can finish it. A fantastic image.

Wonderful, I love the faces of course! On a recent 'Coast' programme the presenters tested the sand at three resorts on our South coast, and explained what made some sands better than others for sticking together. Swanage has some good stuff, but the sculptors bought their own to the Bournemouth Air Festival last year!

Another beautiful 'grainy' picture Dana. David is a very clever man for sure.

I love your puns Jeff but I have to admit that this went over my head at first.

Amazing! I love sand sculptures! They have an annual competition in San Diego where I'm from (Imperial Beach) and I used to go as a kid. Great shot and brought back memories.

That really is amazing! Not only are they talented artists creating faces and many other details, but how is stays together, especially at those 45 degree angles is truly amazing. Great shot and thanks for sharing what must have been a very fun day.

I absolutely love this artist and his work, especially this one, and I'm very glad you put it here. I was thinking about those gum ball machine which he placed at the back. Maybe it's because often in such a gum ball was a kind of surprise, and it is his trademark in connection with this, such as kitsch ring, or something similar. Or as old rotary knob and a gum ball machine, with all these might be stuck in it. Is not important, right? I like it very much. Wherever I love, and I want to thank you for, dear Dana, is the fact that you congratulated Karel on his birthday. It was a great surprise, you mentioned this, and incredibly thoughtful of you, my friend. Thank you from us both!!!
