Description

Still at the Hampton Beach 15th annual Sand Sculpture competition. The title of this sculpture is Role Play and the judges awarded Carl D Jara 3rd place for this sculpture. Carl is from the state of Ohio, in the U.S. He has been sand sculpting for 22 years and has won 1st place five times at Hampton Beach in the past 14 years. He is the exhibits Creator for the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. Talk about a split personality. Zooms works Sun, wind, rain and gravity are the sculptures enemy. The sun evaporates the water in the sand and the wind blows away the dry sand. A wind screen is sprayed on the completed sculpture (a mixture of school glue and water is a common method). The sculptors can be seen spraying their work with water during the sculpturing process but heavy rain can pit the finished sculpture. The competition is a timed event, 8 hours a day for 3 days. Info from an unidentified Hampton Beach Sandman. Tagged for potential nudity. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

Just making something from sand that does not fall over amazes me, but these artists really go over the top. Very impressive

This is beyond cool. What I see in this is the fact that each of us is made of two equal parts from our father and mother.
