Description
I was called to the zoo 3 days ago to pick up a baby opossum that had found her way into the zebra barn. This is not a good place for a little opossum. While I was there,
I had the honor of being invited to photograph the new baby at the zoo. I watched this mom cuddle her new son for about 10 minutes. She is so very gentle with him. She, just like a human mom, would touch him, talk to him and hug him. I did not stay long as I did not want to stress her. I usually do not go to zoos as I do not like to see animals in cages for their entire life. As I watched her, I had to wish that she was in the jungle up in the trees with him where she belongs. I do wish that many humans would take lessons from animals on how to be a better mom.

this is so beautiful. Would that she could be in her jungle, but with poachers and the like roaming those same jungles, she is most definitely safer where she is at. Wonderful and beautiful capture, Bev.
