Description

Synathedon vespiformis female. I was SO excited to see this in my garden. It is nationally scarce but may be under recorded. It is quite small, the forewings being 10-12 mm in length. The male has a much less yellow tail bush.

O.M.G !! Here there is a clearwing moth that looks more like a hummingbird moth but it rarely ever seen. I've never seen one. And while this one is far different from that one, it is spectacular! Love that fuzzy bum! Congrats on a great shot!

Wow! That is one to get excited about! In your garden too! I bet you ran for the camera. It is a very handsome moth. I have seen a hummingbird hawkmoth (didn't get a decent photo though) but never one of these beauties!
