Description

Greetings Folks, I've had several mails and comments asking about my new Avatar photo... Will I post it etc.. So here she is, Vulcan To the Skies, The Spirit Of Great Britain, XH558 Avro Vulcan B2.. Taken at the RAF Cosford Airshow, and just showing she is quite capable of pulling 'G', about to pull that wing over photo I posted a while back.. Remember? Beautiful.. And I found out not long ago, I saw this very aircraft at North Weald Airshow with my Father ages ago, she was the RAF's official display Vulcan... And now in her last season, still displaying.. Enjoy and picture is BIG Rob

There's no aircraft more startling, more awe-inspiring than the Vulcan!

What's trailing from its left wing? I was going to ask about your avatar, but others beat me to it. All I can say is "thanks"! I will always associate this plane with the phenomenally fantastic refueling for the bomb runs in the Falklands war. My hat's off to the folks who calculated that! And, did I say great photo? No? Well, now I have! :-)

Probably the most beautiful military aircraft ever built. So sad that it will not be entertaining crowds at air-shows in years to come.

OMG, nothing like watching a beautiful manta ray-like bomber, with a cool camouflage paint job, soar into the heavens, as depicted in this dynamic shot, Rob. Is that a streamer of some sort trailing off the left wing? And, I'm going to check out my aircraft encyclopedia for what I believe is the most beautiful military ever built. Certainly not the Warthog. There may be a tie for first place.

Cool shot mate, pulling a cool vapour trail......just think, when you're old and grey and some little squirt says " Ooohhhh what a great plane", upon seeing such a photo.....you'll be able to say " I saw her fly, and heard her raw ".
