UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

I can see why you have both been tempted. This is a beautiful little town and zoom is a must. Excellent photograph Bill.

A nice country!

A nice wide view, Bill. Not sure if I'd pick Gold Beach as my favorite place to live on the Oregon coast, but I do like the town a lot & would add one more reason - it has the best restaurant we've found on the coast - Anna's By The Sea. But I thought Brookings had the most sunny days on the coast?

I love the entire Oregon coast as well. I have also felt very tempted to move there. Of course now that would mean an intercontinental move of over 5000 miles and would take my husband that far from his family. I would be much closer to most of my side of the family, but the clincher for me would be the fact of no medical facilities close by. This is a gorgeous and tempting shot of this beautiful area.

I can understand both the pros and cons of living in this beautiful place. Temps sound delightful (104 here today) but the rain and distance to travel to loved ones and large city would tip the scale for me too. Lovely shot, though!

Sounds like ideal place with those temps. Beautiful image, Bill!

It does look idyllic but no good if away from everything. xx

What a beautiful place this is and the temperatures are tempting, i admit, only I agree with you on the medical facilities. It is too far from that.

Very beautiful view

A gorgeous pano Bill and it sounds like a wonderful place to like except for the rain and remoteness!

Perfect climate! Shame about the medical stuff. What a glorious view!

super scene
auntietk
Even choosing it as a summer only spot doesn't make the remoteness work out any better. :P Pity ... it's such a delightful place, and possesses one of my all-time favorite bridges!

Amazing capture Bill. God bless.

I sometimes think that I wouldn't want to move to some of my favorite spots. Visiting them with none of life's 'serious' stuff to do is half the fun!

It is exquisitely lovely, I can see the temptation, but agree with the reasons not to do it. Super big shot of this beautiful place!

I especially like the gradient effect of the blue water and sky in this splendid shot of your lovely Gold Beach, Bill.

Beautiful capture Bill.

This is a lovely place! Your photo could increase the population here all by itself - it makes this place very tempting indeed! An incredible photo, Bill!
