It's a lovely photo, and a very pretty building, but it's a pity that there is a grass monoculture surrounding it! A missed opportunity for a wildlife haven.

Wonderful old building, and a terrific shot! Andrea would break out in hives if she could see how much of this country is covered in lawn. :P I agree with her, though ... natural ground cover rocks! :)

Lovely. During WWI and WWII the Army Corps of Engineers produced a book of standard building plans. This church is 98% identical to the standard Army Chapel that was built in at least 1000 or more copies...the majority of them in 1942. The old wooden barracks, mess halls, supply rooms, chapels, etc., etc. are almost all gone now (designed to last 5-20 years). But many of these building were sold to nearby civilian communities and moved off to new locations. This could be one of 'em. Maybe with a prettied-up steeple.

Pretty in the flat flat countryside; I'm sure it's not as flat as it looks overall when you're up close and traversing it, but to me, being here where it's all hills and mountains it's strikingly different! A lovely view and capture!
