Description

Half Dome is a granite dome at the eastern end of Yosemite Valley in Yosemite National Park, California. It is possibly Yosemite's most familiar rock formation. The granite crest rises more than 4,737 feet (1.44384 km) above the valley floor, info from Wikipedia. I am guessing that I took this photo in the 1990s and I was using my new Pentax camera. The photo was taken from Glacier Point area as park rangers were trying to get us to leave immediately as a huge thunder storm was coming in fast. A break in the clouds lit up half dome for only a moment. A scanned photo. It will zoom but grainy. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

A dramatic and almost epic scene with the white mountain standing out against the dark backdrop and seemingly rearing up in defiance at the brooding skies above. Mother Nature must have lit up the mountain on purpose and cried out to you, "Hurry! Take this shot!" 😄
