Description
Well the MiG3 project is coming to an end, we've got what we need for production....just sorting the original for return to the Russians. The engine needed a complete overhaul and the wings need the most replacement parts, other than that it wasn't in too bad condition. I phoned Gen. Gogol, our Russian liason and told him he could pick it up Friday. His reply has me stumped....he asked that we deliver it to Smogeski Airfield, close to where we found it......and we'll do an exchange... I thought we were using it for a template and giving it back, what this exchange is for I've no idea. Peachfuzz will fly the MiG and he'll need a ride back to The Plant, so I'll go along as taxi.....and we'll just have to trust them.....well !!!

Strange indeed. Make sure your passports are in order and you pack some extra underwear. The plane is not looking too bad and they are really neat mechanics. Great image and intriguing story.

Probably exchange a lot of suspicious glances and grimaces, and maybe the flu, I hear it's going around right now. Nice one, Neil.

Love the wings

Hmmm.... one never knows with them... just keep your eyes open. and don't shut the engine off.... Great work!!

Exchange, huh? To quote Han Solo, "I have a bad feeling about this...". Watch them Russians! Look what "trust" got Ukraine...

Looking great so far Neil. I'd love to see you model a totally bare frame of say a Spitfire, Hurricane or BF 109 one day showing all the innards but it is probably a lot of work :-) General Anatol Alexsis Gogol of the KGB I presume !
neiwil
Not as much work as you may think ;-)

One little suggestion and you totally run with it (LOL)!!!!!!!!!! Love it Neil and I hope the boys have an interesting encounter with the Russians. I eagerly await the next chapter of our story! :-)

Best of luck on that one!

Hmmm... considering there are 20 million more women than men in Russia, he's possibly trying to bum off some excess "merchandise" on you. Maybe KGB trained, but you can't be sure! Maybe innocents they want to get rid of. Or dissidents? You've now really piqued my curiosity! As for the plane - very nice anatomical image (oh, have I mentioned anatomy is my profession? Human or mechanical, just as fascinating!). Nice image of an assembly site. Keep up the good work! :-)

I note you have even armed the mechanics! Trust in God, all others.............not so much.

Outside is a magnificent aircraft Neil. A very naif image. But the "Anatomy" is very poor. Those wings will not support even its own weight. Since ancient times (Wright brothers) until today the aircraft wings have one or more beams. More essential that the keel of a boat. I think that after the test flight when the plane lost its wings, General Gogol unintentionally visited a gulag in Siberia, accompanying the Mikoyan and Gurevich engineers.

I recommend taking guns and then taking more guns... NEVER trust Russians.. (Sorry read to much History, slipped a bit there..) Have to say, this is looking rather droolworthy and as tease I'll post a MiG I've had sitting for ages in the files.. So, how's that Princess coming along then LOL Rob
