Description

Here you see the comparison in size between the honey bee and the hornet mimic hoverfly. (The hover fly is to the left of the pic). This was taken in our garden a few days ago.

This is interesting too see, Jeff, and what a BIG eye that left one has. As I don't see the different such well I guess that big eye is the hoverfly, ;-). What I also like very much on this picture are the details of this flower, as we call it "Kogeldistel". (Echinops ritro in Latin, I don't know the English name for it.)
