Description

Talbot Heath, Bournemouth, Dorset. August 2015 was the wettest on record for my home town Bournemouth, with the rainfall being 254% of the average for this month. It means we still have a lot of green, which I love. This wood alongside the stream in Bourne Bottom is always wet as it is fed by springs along both sides of the valley. It is an ecosystem known as Alder or Willow carr, and I dread Fritz vanishing in there as he used to do when he was younger, as he emerges black up to the Plimsoll line.

You need waterproof shoes if you walk there. Fantastic shot, beautiful tones of green.

Dread the wet weather, 3 wet dogs returning from a walk is no joke. Lovely place to walk.

A truly magical and lovely scene, Andrea; I guess you got all our rain, since we've had the driest summer on record. It's feast or famine everywhere these days, it seems.

What a beautiful dense, lush and gorgeous looking place Andrea.
Guessing there is so much for the dogs to explore in there !

Out here we have only memories of this. I was going to ask if you were a gypsy rover but then I realized that's green wood not wet wood. Well, its beautiful whatever it is.

How lovely! We're finally getting rain, and when we went to town today I noticed the river level has already risen a bit. Could have done without the hellacious wind storm we got and the two days of power outage, but it's nice to get some rain.

SO lovely and so green, green. No wonder with all that rain you have had all August.

When we had our wettest month in May, the mosquitoes were just awful! Hope it's not that bad there. And ugh! on having to bathe a wet, muddy dog after an outing there. Nice shot, Andrea.
