Hello !
My name is Helle. I live in Denmark on the Island, Zealand. I have a husband and two sons and three grandchildren, so I am a happy person.
I like many kinds of art and I try to limit myself, but I dont succeed very well. I love my PSP9 and I think I use it every day. I like to draw, paint and experiment on canvas or paper and I wish I had time do it every day. My biggest wish is, that there would be 48 hours instead of the poor 24 a day. I just dont think it will ever happen ;)
A fantastic new world opened for me, when I was Introduced to Renderosity for the first time. I am very grateful to be a part if this site.

Wonderful orchids. Fantastic shot, looks very beautiful!!

This is lovely Helle. What I do for a black background is prop up a piece of card.

Well done! I love these sorts. That's a good idea of Jeff's.

To 'blur out a background', you basically want to shoot with the lens's aperture wide open. So for example, in aperture mode, select something like f.2.8....f.22 on the other hand would do the opposite and produce a very long depth of field with the subject and background in focus. You did a great job with Photochoppppe though!

You did a great job with this! Andrew is right about the f2.8 thing, but you can only do that with your big camera. Your little white Samsung (do I remember that right? It's a Samsung?) probably doesn't give you that sort of option.
But gosh! Who cares, when you can get the result in postwork, and it's fun to sit down and do that sort of work? :)

OMG, I didn't know you could grow orchids in Denmark! In any case, this one is stunning, looks healthy, happy and all set to run outside and play. Luverly macro of one of my favorite flowers. As for the bokeh background, since I use a Panasonic point-and-shoot for most of my photos, I've used the lasso technique for years already, no matter the subject matter, whether it be cars, flowers, etc., without making a new layer of it though. A lot of work, but well worth it. And, the temp hit 42.78 Celsius today in my covered patio.

Just stunning Helle....I've never had an orchid and always admire those who can grow them... congrats on these beauties!

This is incredibly lovely. I have a little orchid I've been nursing along for a few years now, and it never gives me more than a blossom or two; now it's been dormant for two years, and has started losing leaves. I don't know much about them, except for the not overwatering thing, but I have a feeling it's decided to commit suicide :|
