Description

The great vehicle had landed in 1962 and ever since then Seattle had been ruled by Space Monkeys from outer space. Since I was in the neighborhood and my friends were working I thought I would pay a visit to the city and see the sights. Entering the flying saucer would not prove easy. First you had to buy a ticket and wait (in my case) for an hour before you could get in line. Then you waited for a half hour in the line before your adventure would begin.

Last time I was there was 2007 or 2008, and I went with Marilyn (beachzz). It's true about the line! Crazy! When I was a kid, you just walked up to the elevator doors, waited for them to open and disgorge the group coming down, got in, and went to the top. What I remember most about it was my grandmother making sure we stood still and behaved ourselves on the ride up.

Space Monkeys really DO rule Seattle! I didn't know that until we started traveling. Everywhere we've gone, I think, "These people are really odd." After a while I realized it was happening everywhere, and they were all about the same, so I figured it must be me and my Space Monkey Seattle friends. LOL!

How do you photograph an iconic edifice that everybody else photographs? From a different angle. Well done Mark:)

How very British! I thought we were the only nation who queued as a pastime! This is a clever take on this icon which nothing would induce me to enter. Lifts, heights and intimate contact with complete strangers in confined spaces are all a bit troublesome this old trout.

Like Andrea I thought it was only the British that would spend hours in a queue! I have never seen or heard of this Mark and you didn't say whether you enjoyed the experience.
