Nice shot, Richard. In spite of all the wonderful hills and bridges in SF and Oakland and all that verticality, 45 miles south of this in Silicon Valley where I live and work the scenery and landscape is quite flat and mundane until you hit the Santa Cruz Mountains which lie just to our south. The Bay Area is quite diverse if you think about it. Hope you are enjoying your travels.

There are a lot of clear days, but that depends on the ocean currents. North California has the warm current from central America meeting the cold current from Alaska. When they meet and mix, we get the coastal fog. Mostly the fog in San Francisco is kept back by the Twin Peaks and Mount Sutro heights, so only the western part is foggy. Glad you got a day and a photo without the fog blanket. How did you get the photo? Did you stop he car or have someone driving for you? As for your other photo of the bridge, I'll have to look the new bridge section up on the Internet. Thanks for that photo and for bringing it to my attention! Keep up the good work! :-)
