Description

Captured 9/26/15 @ 7:51 am, looking over the gate of a neighbor's front patio. Dang, even though I got a nice sharp shot of the guy in the top pic, the white one at the bottom came out much too blurry for me, which I don't understand because I took my time and really zeroed in on him/her. I like the bulging black eyes of the doggie in the top foto. These pups always go through this continuous ritual where they start barking when they hear my or anyone else's footsteps from twenty feet away, and then when I do arrive and poke my head over the fence to say hello, the white one starts attacking the brown pooch, violently shoving it aside, and then they separate by about two feet to continue barking at me. And it isn't just me this happens to, they also repeat this routine with EVERYONE ELSE who violates their territorial imperative. Speaking softly to them or hiding my camera doesn't allay their hostility by one iota. And I'm not about to offer them any snacks because the owners go ballistic over that. I wonder if these constant adrenaline rushes affect their health and life span. Shalom.

Your last capture looked like basically friendly dogs, but these look like they mean business! Thank goodness for fences. Nice shot, Harry.

Dogs have the entire gamut of personalities. I find that two together often think they have to protect...kind of a contest between dogs...I am better at this than you are...no you are not...I am better than you, etc., etc./bark, bark, bark. At least they don't single you out and that's good. I have experienced some out of focus dog shots too...usually from them advancing toward me throwing my focus off.

HAHHA! Barking doggies dont bite, they say. I wont count on it. But I feel a bit sorry for the brown dog for his way too long claws. Must hurt.

Aww, they do take their guard dog duties quite seriously! Mine goes ballistic when she sees anyone pass by on the street (or even if she suspects someone might be thinking about passing by)...I don't understand it myself. Great shots of these little balls of fury!
