Description
Captured 6/29/11, at the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, adjacent to beautiful Cabrillo Beach, in semi beautiful San Pedro, California.
Yep, another aquarium, this one specializing in the sea life in and around Southern California. The urchins are of the red and purple variety; plus some different colored bat starfish. I also have photos of the two-legged type of urchins, who run amok in aquariums and zoos.

another fine piece from your underwater series...a medium which I assume is always difficult because of the many elements that interfere with what you're shooting: ie, the stuff floating in the water, the water itself, the light or dark that's in the water at any time, the effect of the glass, the effect of the reflections, etc etc. You've managed to wrest a very fantasy-like world out of all that, here. The Anemone, Urchins and Starfish make a garden from another world. And lots of bursts (Helle calls it a firework of undersea life---great description). You got open space too---in the top left---with background bursts like fireworks in the distance. I too am amazed at the profusion of purples and pinks here. And oranges. It's a big festival. Beautiful shot, and another scintillating entry from your aquarium outings, where this one feels like a costume party, or Mardis Gras, stages by the underwater set.
