Description

I'm back,,,, This is pretty much what most of our trip looked like - foggy, rainy, cloudy, and cold. Bleah.... We still got in some sight-seeing, and photos - I'll be posting more... Wednesday was about the only decent day we had, and it was a lovely day. We even managed to get into eastern Wyoming, and checked out Devil's Tower - didn't see any spaceships, though. LOL Wednesday evening, Jo came down with a nasty cold, and it was even worse Thursday morning, (and it was another crappy day) so we decided to come back a day early. She's still fighting her cold, but getting a little better. I didn't get a chance to get the drones in the air. In addition to the weather being a factor, the whole area seems to be a no-fly zone. It's all National or State parks (and S Dakota has banned drones from all State parks), or Corps of Engineers areas. I'm kinda bummed, but it wasn't totally unexpected. Anyway, we're back home, and I still have a week before I have to go back to work, so I'll be working on the TNA story, and some other fun stuff as well. Hope everyone is doing well! Thanks for dropping by!

I read where the Native Americans in that area want to change the name back to the NA language name. at least you did not have a "foggy mountain break down"

Wonderful photo! Sorry the trip wasn't what you needed, but it got you out of the house and away from work.

Nice shot!... would make for a cool back ground, with maybe a ship landing in the foreground!

Can't wait to see the next page of the TNA girls...

... finding beauty in assorted paths of life is a key to happiness, and you are most fortunate to have a traveling companion to share this time, whether bad or good... welcome back :) thx for your lovely remote and cloudy image, and I hope that Jo recovers quickly.

As I walked through hurricane spawned mist, wet from hat to shoes, I remembered a month earlier when mosquitoes would have made that outing much less desirable.

The further east we come, the worse the weather gets, but that's ok, we beat the snow in the high country (above 8,000 feet). We came through that on sunny, dry roads!

Like your photo above. Some day I need to do a series of weather shots. My camera is water resistant but I am not sure how to keep rain drops off the lens:)

Enjoy your week working in Rod's Lair. Tell Jo to get better quick...the Royals need her full blown cheering to get back to the World Series. Hear they have locked in home field advantage as of last night...so all is starting well.

Excellent shot. The gloomy weather works here. So sorry it cut short your holiday however, I know what that can be like.

Another shot that blooms in zoom. (Forgive the rhyme.) It may have been awful weather, but it sure makes a misty sweeping photo. The low-lying cloud or mist is visceral, here---touchable almost. And it really feels like it's devouring the upper peaks of those hills. With sweet texture and roll to the hills. And such bleached primal land in the foreground...with that lone house in the mid ground, the shot really looks like it's taken in the wilds of Labrador or some similar (remote) place. Evocative and primal, and, in zoom, it takes one over.

Great capture - reminds me of some of my hunting days this season. Sorry to hear about Jo and her cold - I hope she gets over it soon
