UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

HOLY COW!! You could set up housekeeping inside that thing! What a shot, Bill! I don't think anyone is going to be taking that bit of driftwood home for an art project!

Wow, what an awesome tree root! I was amazed when I walked through Washingtonian forests how huge the fallen tree were. A lovely shot of your dear wife, which perfectly accentuates the size and scale!

WOWWW! I see Tara has found her roots ;-) Fantastic roots and so nice to see Tara :D

Like looking down the throat of some monster! Could it be a red wood or seqoia? I've never seen such a tree trunk from this angle. I wonder how old it is? Having Tara in the picture gives an idea of how huge this is. Beautiful photo. Did you find another photo of it? If so, please post! Keep 'em comin'! :-)

You didn't run into any Keebler elves while you were there, did you? This is a great find and a terrific capture.

Like in Tara's gallery, I'm doing 2 here today. Well, rules are to be broken...Great shot! And Tara is standing so formally, it's like she's posing for a business photo, or she's selling odd (and huge) sculptures. I've never seen a shot of her looking so staunch! Great pose. You positioned her perfectly: In a way, it looks like the wood is responding to her, as if it's exploding around her. (Either that, or it's Tara on a bad hair day. Like her hair came straight off her head...) Wonderful detail and quality in the wood. And taken with just the right amount of cloud and sky above---in a slightly greenish-almost pale pink tone. And the right amount of earth below. A terrific shot, Bill. Tara looks like she's on the verge of a loud "Jawohl, mein Herr!!!!" Terrific.
