Description
It felt so lonely out there.
Captured 9/27/15 @ 7:10 am, about 2.5 miles from home, while most other people were still asleep. Since it was a Sunday, there were barely any vehicles to further enhance my photos. Fog is such a rarity around here, along with rain, that I was determined to snap a few shots before it burned off. And it doesn't take long to burn off with all our heat, which reached about 95 Fahrenheit degrees later in the day.
More poignant in ZOOM.
Aloha.

Amazing... Fantastic capture also !!!

We rarely get fog here. Nice shot, even if a bit lonely looking. Hope your weather improves.

It's a very ominous feeling, the signal lights in the fog with no one around for them to talk to...feels almost post-apocalyptic! Wonderful shot, Harry!

I may skip around this time, but I'll still do a long session, as it's due. One more of your thick, moody fog shots, this one with really thick fog, so much so that everything behind the stoplight is obliterated, but for faint outlines. Those outlines give the shot real mystery...but so do the suggestions of what we 'do' see. The stoplight is the dominant thing, esp with that arrow---in Chicago, we have a whole red light, and an arrow underneath or above it. Visually, it draws us right to it, and the fact that you have it to one side is a fine choice, leaving the rest of the view so murky and misty. A fine irony that the banner is for "Plenti"---a play on "plenty," which is ironic considering how bleak this shot is. Another fine choice. (Plenti has taken over a lot of websites too...) And one lone car in the distance, which is another fine choice---ie, that you chose to shoot when it was making an appearance. With a street lamp on the right and some birds on top...Good choice to give that much street in the foreground, too---this shot emerges out of a sea of dark pavement. Fine work choosing a pov and composition for a sight that's almost composition-less. And more fine fog work from you, Harry.
