Captured back on 8/3/11, during my last visit to the beautiful Aquarium of the Pacific, in beautiful Long Beach, California. Lories and lorikeets (tribe Loriini) are small to medium-sized arboreal parrots characterized by their specialized brush-tipped tongues for feeding on nectar of various blossoms and soft fruits, preferably berries. Instead of the cooler weather promised us for today, it hit a nice bright and sunny 104.4 Fahrenheit/40.2 Celsius degrees in my patio.
