Description
I am so sad to hear of Jean-Luc's passing. he was a good friend to me, here. I used quite a few of his 3D models over the years; many of which he gave to me for free.
may you rest with beautiful Angel's, Jean-Luc.
I believe this is the left side of a sun dog?
sun dogs appear as two colored patches of light to the left and right of the sun. they are red on the side nearest the sun and then turn orange to blue to white.
(I could not see the other patch of color due to buildings and trees.)
thanks for looking and comments, I appreciate your support.

I have not seen one for a long time now but the trees blocks my view from my house. I was fortunate to have seen one on a sunrise in Oklahoma a number of years ago. great capture

I'd heard of Jean-Luc's passing, as I'd heard of his terrible illness. I'm very sad for his loved ones, and for his friends---of which you were one. I didn't know him, but I could tell, from his gallery and from the people who loved him, that he must have been a very fine person. Your sun dog image is very fitting, because although it's a sun, it's also a ghost image, and the strange, beautiful array of light that the sun leaves for us in our atmosphere...as if Jean-Luc were leaving a piece of his glow for us, right up in our sky so we'd know he hasn't left us. We can't tell for sure if the light is over a horizon, or over a cloud: And that ambiguity is perfect, because the light itself remains magic. The tree on the right grounds us right here, on earth. Fine and very sensitive job, Barb, it's not an easy phenomenon to catch with a camera. And it's very suitable for the passing of someone dear. My condolences to you and to all his loved ones. May he be in peace, wherever he is...
