Description
Either this Great Blue Heron thinks this is the perfect fishing spot, or he's "hiding" from me, doing his best tall skinny stick impression.
Thanks very much for your views and comments.

A superb shot Maria. I love it.

Beautiful shot. We have one (or two) that visit our stream. I always just stand there and watch, and never think to get the camera.

The ever alert heron seems to be ignoring you, and virtually blends in with the surrounding foliage, in this neat photo, Maria.

"Don't mind me, I'm just a tree with my roots in the water..." They do blend in so well, and it helps that they stand so still for incredible periods of time. Fine shot!

Amazing how you were able to get such a clear & crisp focus on the subject among the clutter of trees and branches... Outstanding work...and a very difficult task, one I'm having much difficulty to master... Love your photography....

boy, and to think that Bill and Tara got to do bird photography with you...the bird is definitely camouflaged by his environment, but he also stands out: you got him in beautiful focus, he's almost statuesque. The spindly surroundings are so strange and 'new' to me, even though I've seen growth like this many times: It's in the varying focuses, and the knotted forms on the water's surface, like barbed wire. And the murky blues of the water. As a composition, it's almost an abstract with Japanese elements. As you can see, I'm skipping around randomly in your gallery, which is no judgment on the images I skip: I'm just getting a sampling. This is mysterious and beautiful, Maria.
