Description

Very large---better zoomed. A dawn with a storm on the way. The lake turns eerie and mean, and sometimes beautiful... One more coming... m

One of the greatest Italian poets, Giacomo Leopardi, wrote a poem entitled "The calm after the storm" watching this beautiful image reminded me of this poem. Not because there is a direct connection but because it opened my eyes to the fact that there is a calm before the storm. Very different but perhaps a feeling most strongly coivolgente and dramatic that for this to be a greater sense of the preciousness of life precarious. The small human figures on the pier strongly emphasizes the smallness of man before the great cosmic events. Work wonderfully charming, Congratulations !!!!

ALWAYS beautiful...especially with storms on the way. Or occurring. Or just finishing. Can you tell I love weather? Absolutely gorgeous light held carefully between the dark clouds and the sheen of the water...

beautiful storm clouds; they seem so angry over such a calm sea.

coivolgente? What the heck is that? But I digress. Magnificent black and orangey striations and lighting effects in this approaching storm motif - something which is but a mere fantasy around here. Love those angry overhead clouds.

What an attraction has this light, if your eye is drawn to it. What an impressive whole, especially when you consider how minimal the people in this sensational image are.

Seeing the people on the pier is like finding an easter egg in a game. :) (I don't know if you ever played any of those games where little treats would pop up that didn't have anything to do with the plot of the story.) Anyway ... the people on the pier are a wonderful addition to the story of Chicago. Wonderful!

This is just breathtaking - the ominous clouds with the sun just breaking through, and as Tara said, the figures on the pier... All combine to make a stunning photo. I love this!

Eerie atmosphere, everything is suspended waiting for something unexpected, inevitable, only the Sun, just hid behind clouds, leave a minimum of hope!!

Beautiful picture!!
