Description
She's not as big as she looks: The angle makes her lopsided.
Shot from under a pier---I was on my stomach getting soaked and sandy, and maneuvering frantically to keep my camera from getting either!
I want to mention 2 people:
Marilyn (beachzz) has a birthday tomorrow, Oct 23: I'm not doing online dedis now, but I want to say happy birthday, wonderful friend! And many more...(you'll get your gift in the mail...)
And Harry (goodoleboy): He's been struggling with an absolutely devastating back problem, to where he can only walk a few blocks, and only some days. It's constant pain and frustration, and all my wishes go out to him. Feel better, Harry, as much as you can; and my wishes for relief are with you now and always. Much healing to you!
Thanks everyone, and a wonderful Friday to all
I'll be in your galleries soon,
Mark

Beautiful composition that back on the relationship between citizen and the city.He emphasizes the contrast and indissolubele attachment at the same time. The female figure not pin up yields more universally valid. A great work that stimulates the analysis of many different content !!!!!

I love that the sky is such an imposing negative space in this image; it adds so much to the presence of the buildings and the woman, and the composition gives a strong feeling of impending "something"... wonderful work!
I'm glad you posted today, I was just wondering about you last night, and hoping that everything in your busy life was going as smoothly as it should and that you were well.

Excellent POV in this excellent black and white composition of the Chicago skyline, with what I thought at first was a vividly silhouetted suicidal woman preparing to jump off a bridge. Now I have to get into my filters and see if I can emulate this style of contrast in my postings. Happy Birthday to Marilyn, and, finally, thanks for the mention of my disabling physical problem, which remains the same at this juncture. At least it's not so bad when I sit at the computer.

First I thought this lady is not a real person, but you "draw" it in the image, Mark. But to know now what the actual circumstances were during this recording of yours makes me chuckle. Another special picture, my friend. And, don't hurry, because that isn't good.

What a clever shot this is. Makes a fun illusion that she is a huge lady in a tiny city :-)

I can see how the wind blows her clothes to one side and gives her a different shape. Either way, it's wonderful positioning for the shot to have her right there. She is perfectly placed, and lends grace and humanity to the city.

Very nice capture. Well done.

wow---I just love this shot. The perspective rocks; gives her so much presence, as if she OWNS that city!! Thanks for the birthday wish; the day was busy but fun. I share it with a friend, so it's doubly good!!
