Hey Richard, cool find. That's a post-war Plymouth Coupe. They started producing these in 1945 and didn't change the design until the 1949 model year.

nothing more melancholy or oddly poetic than the remains of an old rusted chassis. It has a beauty all its own, like a dilapidated barn. It has an odd dignity. Your pov lets us see inside, with the box springs (I assume) and the shell of what was once probably a beloved family car. And the bright green patina---as if it were aged brass---of the hood makes great contrast. Esp with the front of the hood sticking out over nothing! Wonderful find, and wonderful capture, and something for archaeologists, ages hence. And the surrounding gravel and empty road are fine backdrop to its solitariness...
