Description

I'm not a sentimental person, and not attached to stuff, but I treasure this. This tiny charm, about the size of a fingernail, was originally my mothers when she was a toddler, and has a dent in the back where she bit it! It was then added to a gold charm bracelet which I have recently sold, but before I did I replaced this with a gold owl. The jeweller had a real technical problem soldering the jump ring which I had cut. The enamel would have been done AFTER the jump ring when it was new, as heating the ring would cause the enamel to melt. When I collected it recently the man that served me didn't know how that was resolved. I shall have to go in and find out !

This is a lovely piece. Heirlooms are important as they connect us to our past and are beautiful gifts to those who come after us. Since it is close to our Halloween this pansy has become a skull face with a pompadour hairdo on the top of its head.

I'm all for keeping things that mean something to you, and getting rid of the rest. This is a keeper, for sure. How lovely to have something that was your mother's through her entire life!
