I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

WOW! An impressive shot, Carin and who needs a car with all these caps? :-)

Perfect Carin and the cars all look like models placed there by hand.

I knew that area looked familiar! I know a few great restaurants there! Fantastic capture!

That's great news dear Carin about your photo's. And what for photo's....., amazing what a lot of colours and so many to watch. I imagine the noise this makes, and hear all the honking taxis. And what a beautiful color umbrellas, that fit so well in the picture. I fantasize, they sell ice cream there. What I also can imagine, is what Jeff wrote, that this is only a lot of toys, and some kids are playing: New York-New York. ;-)

Wow, so much warm light and brilliance than I would have expected for 9 p.m. I always think of the blues of glass skyscrapers, so this is a great view of the city! Glad you got your pics off of your work computer!

Incredble POV and great shot !

They look like toys! What a wonderful capture, congrats on saving the shots!

This does have a rather tilt-shift look to it, making everything seem like a toy. It's wonderful! The light, the movement, the noise ... and you haven't lived until you've heard Bill SAY "New York." LOL! It gives him away as a native in a second. :P I'm SO happy you were able to recover your photos!! Can't wait to see more.

I think the slightly high key look makes everything look like its from toyland. This is a really fine shot. I like the sense of movement.

Great POV in this shot of one portion of your favorite city. New York definitely has a monopoly on Yellow Cabs. I think I see one about once a month in my town.
sossy
what a traffic and that with 4 lanes! when I was in NY the yellow taxies jumped into my eyes at first also! ;o)

Interesting photo! :)

like everyone else, I see that toy-like quality in the shot; and the high-key rendering of the hues makes them seem bold and toy-like. THere's a bit of a shake in various places, which gives the shot a real new york vitality, and you got the hues and the rhythms, and an angle that has "a big pulsing city" all over it. Wonderful energetic shot of a piece of the big apple. NY has changed so much since I was there, but this looks oddly familiar. It has that crammed multi-cultural feel to it...

This colored view is amazing
