Description

This little monster was from a montage I drew from a photo by Harry (goodoleboy). But it was corrupted---along with several other images in my gallery---since the "change". I'll replace them soon... But since it's the only car I've ever drawn (and it's from a terrific shot by Harry), I decided to re-post it. I know, I'm 'cheating' by re-posting something, but I just don't want these gone from my gallery forever. (I don't have the link to Harry's photo, but it was a beaut. Thanks, Harry---I'll fix the original soon) In the meantime, still commenting and I'll get to all of you this week. Take care, Mark (pen and ink, 2009) ------------------------

I remember this well! It's just as outstanding as I recalled. I love the sort of "keep on truckin" perspective, the exaggerated length of the front end, and the overall style. If I had to guess, I'd say it was an old Duesenberg. :)

Oh-em-gee, what have you done with my posh automobile from decades ago? It was so elegant, and now I don't even recognize it. Actually, I don't even remember this particular one, perhaps because I've snapped so many vehicles over the years. Anyway, you did a yeoman's job of sketching out this one, in a cartoon-like style, Mark. It's the zenith of noir! It looks so much like a gangster's car now, either that or a well worn heap with a zillion miles on its odometer. And thanks for mentioning me, more than once, in your narration; I can use all the support I can get, which has been quite scarce, as you so well know.

I love the cartoon feel to this, and the intensity of the lines makes me think of etching. Brilliant.

Outstanding drawing - I love this cross-hatching graphic style & the way you've given this vehicle a menacing, villainous personality...

Mark, I am really glad you have reposted this wonderful drawing. It certainly deserves to be seen properly. That is not cheating. I just love your crosshatch work, which shows how great you are at drawing. Pitty you dont do this kind of art anymore, but I know you have other things you are also burning for. I still love this, never the less. :)
