Description

Looking more like a wooden decoy than a live bird, this little Juvenile Pied-Billed Grebe had just come up from a dive and was quite soaked. I watched him for a while and was quite impressed at how long he could stay underwater while he searched the shallow water for something on which to feed. Thanks very much for your views and comments.

They are such cute little birds, even as adults! The juvenile is even more endearing. Wonderful shot, I've never got one this close!
