Description
Last night's full moon. I have seen lens flares on sunny daytime images, but was not aware that one could get a lens flare taking a shot of the moon.
With a 30 sec. exposure, the moon was white and shapeless so I replaced it with a shot I took a couple minutes later at a faster exposure.
The statue is a gravestone monument as I was at the local cemetery.
Thanks very much for your views and comments.

a spectacular capture of the fantastic detailed moon! and you were not afrait to be on a cemetery by full moon????? ;o)

Fantastic result. At an exposure time of 30 sec, the moon travels a bit and becomes blurred. I think the better result you have with a short exposure time. You have managed it very cleverly.

What a sunning result you have here. I am impressed too :)

I was also out last night shooting the moon. While I didn't get anything that was remotely keepable as far as the moon itself, the tracery of tree branches in the moonlight was delightful. Your shot is totally amazing to me. Fantastic work!

Wowwwwww! This is terrific! I would have done the same thing, replacing the moon, but would never have thought to go to a place with statues. (And no, the graveyard at a full moon doesn't put me off. There's plenty of light!) This is outstanding work. The silhouette is spectacular! Wolfe is gonna love this when he sees it. :)

Sounds like you are a proper Halloween lady Maria - in the cemetery under the moon !!
Excellent picture.

What has this a holy glow and mood on it, Maria. You did a formidable job by taking this shot. That hand upwards is almost in between the two kind of lights, and I like the whole situation so much, my friend. Such a great idea to visit the graveyard at this time. (eh, with your camera ;-))

Brilliant photography, I love this! I saw the glow of the rising moon last evening, but neglected to get a shot because I'm lazy...

All the above in this stellar work of photography, Maria. But no one mentioned that it is posted just a few days before Halloween. A perfect fit for that sacrosanct day. And, it would be most appreciated if you commented on my Halloween postings, which I spent a lot of time and effort on.

You really are a master of blend. The replaced moon is beautiful in this. And another of your silken skies. And the silhouettes are mysterious and soft. And the flare actually feels like a ghost moon---which would fit with a full moon, with all the myths surrounding full moons. A very moody, silken and magical shot. The moon's detail---in the midst of such soft mystery---is stunning.
