Description
On my way back to civilization I passed through the hamlet of Elbe (pop. 29). I stopped at the quaint little grocery store for a soda and to use the facilities. There was a large sign across the door which announced rather aggressively that the restroom was for the owner only. And so I had to rush out and find a bush. I left the soda on the counter. Afterwards I was free to explore the Mount Rainier Railroad Museum.
I am going to take a break from my journey into Oregon and California. In my next post we will be going someplace new.

Great shot of this old locomotive!

How antisocial! He could charge and make a few bucks. Our council has closed most of our public toilets to save money and expects shops to pick up the 'custom'. They already bricked up the ones that were favourites for gay assignations. You can imagine what sort of right wing red necks run our town. I look forward to more adventures with you,Mark.

I like it that they've left this old locomotive to its own devices, rather than fix it up and do the black lacquer thing.

I hate that sort of mentality; it's all fine and good for guys, who can pee in a bush somewhere, but it's a lot more problematic for us womenfolk. I hope they find it hurts their custom. That's one thing I find so difficult when visiting England, there just aren't public toilets without going into a pub, and if you go in a pub you have to buy a pint, which means you need to find more toilets. It's a vicious cycle! You got an excellent shot of this engine, though!
