I do love what you've done with this; the high-key B&W, and the almost inkline feeling of the edges. Your composition is absolutely mesmerizing, and I wish I'd thought to do this with anything!

This is delicious! So many wonderful things to explore... The wonderful tones, and the punch this has - wow! What a wonderful B&W shot, Mark!
I think we're all a lot slower with comments now - I know I am... Fallout from the 'revolution'......

I don't know how you did this, but I'm in awe. It is both bold and striking, but also filled with pattern like detail. Outstanding!!

OH WOW! This is absolutely stunning. I love these sharp edges and some areas are very flat. It gives an amazingly beautiful result. I dont know either, how you do it. It is your little secret and that is what makes it your superb style, which put us all in Awe :-)

most beautiful photo, I like the hard b/w in this, well seen and done!

This looks impossibly bright - how can it be this bright & yet still retain so much detail? It also seems to simultaneously look old fashioned & modern to me - if not for the shiny contemporary cars, I could imagine this being a shot from a 1940's movie...

Excellent looking piece of Art!

Well, in deference to the other commenters, I think I know how you did this. I'll have to begin experimenting with this process, if I have the time and incentive. But, wow, am I late in my comments. In any event, tons of superb lighting contrast, depth and detail in this capture of what I assume is a suburban Chicago sidewalk, Mark. The foliage varies in type and intensity, and is overgrown for an urban area, and definitely needs maintenance. That said, another example of artificiality mixed with nature, which is your wont. Fine shot, my friend.

This has almost an IR feel to it. Those brilliant whites are lovely and give a nice high-key look to the scene. The contrast with the iron fence is superb. Whatever you did, the result is terrific!

There are so many ways to skin that cat in Photoshop. The first time I tried to do something like this, I I learned quite a bit playing with Apply Image and the Channel Mixer...but ended up with a simple levels adjustment and some sharpening. It all depends on what you start with and what the clients wants, helps to love Photoshop and Katrin Eismann...lol. I'm sure your client was very happy with this wonderful image.
