Description

Special Notes: I'm sure you've noticed I've been adding these little side teasers to the story. Just something to make it more interesting and explore the story plot I'm putting together. The universe is the same as you have read about in the other books, but as you know, I move up and down the timeline. But, I'm not going to tell you where we are on the time line, I'll let you figure that out. And, I'm not going to tell you who Nezo is, but I will throw out plenty of clues as the story progresses. “Father Laevious, we got into their navigation computer,” reported the Caelum technician. “Well then, where are they from?” “It’s an unexplored region on the other side of the galaxy,” said the Technician. “Our best guess is 90,000 light years.” “That’s impossible,” said Father Laevious. “They are thousands of years more advanced than us,” said the Technician. “We only captured the ship because they weren’t expecting an attack, even then…” “I know, we lost thirty Cettise taking the ship,” said Father Laevious. “That’s more than what it cost us when we invaded this planet.” “We haven’t been able to make any sense of their language,” said the Technician. “They have at least four-hundred symbols in their alphabet.” “Are the prisoners still not cooperating,” asked Father Laevious. “The interrogator tried everything, the subject didn’t even cry out when it was…” The technician turned away and put his hand over his mouth, he had seen what was done to the alien. “Have someone bring Nezo up here,” ordered Father Laevious. “Nezo?” “He has a talent for languages,” said Father Laevious. “Lets let him listen to their speech and see if he can come up with anything.” Father Laevious leaned in close to the monitor and looked at the image on the screen. “Is that their home world,” asked Father Laevious. “Yes, it’s a super planet—massive in size, and our best guess is it’s a mountainous world.”

I have an idea of who Nezo might be, but I'm not sayin'. I might be wrong anyway. LOL! The image is terrific, btw. I like what you've done with the alien symbols.

I like this installment very much, even though its connection to the long one before it isn't clear to me (because of my coming in, in the middle of things). But I like the tensions set up about this alien civilization, and especially that they're advanced by so much, and of course the knowledge that what they're observing of it took place a long time ago, due to that pesky fact of time across the universe (and of the time it takes to get light from this planet). And you end on the "super planet" statement, which peaks our curiosity even more. The image is perfect for a monitor---you've used a green patina which would make sense in a screen, and that grid; and the alphabet (I assume those are letter symbols, though they could also be numbers). It's very Runic, mixed with Cuneiform-like symbols; and I like the "print" qualities of them (simple verticals and horizontals and basic diagonals). You've even got some bolds in one section. You're very sensitive to details. An enticing side teaser, as you call it. Now I'll go to the next installment...
