Finished up these Khanjars, FFXIV rouge weapons. Made of poplar, the design was burned in with a wood burning tool, covered in Rust-Oleum "weathered gray" stain, several coats of spray on lacquer, the handles are wrapped in paracord over rubber grip. This was a fun set to make and they feel really good to hold and swing around. I was kind of disappointed with the stain job this time, as the test piece I burned and stained looked much nicer, but this isn't too bad. I am glad I went with the paracord wrappings instead of just the rubber grip (which is what I normally do). The lacquer is nice and shiny, but I found some better finishing material that I will try to use on the next piece I make. I did part of the finishing at night which caused me to overspray in some areas, making a little bit of a 'drippy' look in some spots. Overall I am really happy with these, as they capture the feel and look of the in-game items.
