Description
“Pale death enters both the cabins of the poor and the palaces of kings” ~ inscription over the entrance to Colon Cemetery
It is estimated that today the cemetery has more than 500 major mausoleums, chapels, and family vaults. Most are made from granite or Carrera marble imported from Italy. Here are a few palaces.

Astonishing! Here everything goes green unless regularly attacked by vigorous cleaning. These are so white and gleaming.

very sensitive captures of this luminous stone. I assume that's marble (not granite) in the white structures. I don't know...but you got light in it, like the light was inside it. (I'm trying to respond to your pictures as well as the sights themselves---I don't want to overlook your eye!) The lower right shot is angled beautifully, and you really caught that strange translucence that marble gets. ANd I like the guy in yellow right behind it---whoosh: We're in the 20th C! The other shot is angled the other way, and somehow you timed it with an opening in the sky. (Nice.) Stunning structures, and I love that you got that big hedge of yellow-green leaves in the shot. Love Andrea's comment---yeah, they really do keep this place spotless. It must be stunning to stand there. Even on this overcast day, there's great light coming from this place. More beautiful shots from you, of some very challenging sights, I'd imagine...in that there's a lot to shoot crammed into crowded spaces. I'd imagine choosing, positioning yourself, cropping, etc, would be meticulous job.
