Description
The twin towers of the Tyn Church in Prague, which dates from the 14th century. Those smaller spires attached to the main towers remind me of the fins of retro-style rocket ships - I'm waiting for them to blast off into space...

They are very strange and also very cute! I can't imagine how they built them!

Marvelous architecture! I've seen pics of miniature spires on castles, but not a church.

those smaller spires were part of this particular style of gothic: like turrets to watch over the world; and they're odd sights, I agree. They do look like rockets, though they're part of the gothic obsession with repetition, of arches, piers, spires, vaulting (ceiling arches), etc. Repeat, repeat, repeat---everything pointed towards the sky (heaven), of which this was just another example. A fascinating shot, clumping a few facades into one shot, with different styles and hues. It looks like the church is seen behind a structure, but having never seen it in person, I can't tell. The hues are vivid, the shapes clear, and the overcast sky sets them off. I love the brickwork in the facade, a warm use of browns and beiges. A complex packed shot.
Re your comment to my flowerpot image (today)...I was going for a semi-fabric look, a soft-etching look, not a sharpened look. If it came off as a photo with too much 'sharpening', then I didn't communicate what I wanted. (I don't think I even used sharpening---it's an old postwork, I don't remember now---I was experimenting with texture. I'm sorry it came off as oversharpened.

That's one mass of spires! Wonder what the television reception is like? Spectacular sight and capture!

Very interesting net-gothic architecture

If two steeples are good, eighteen must be better. Based upon Mark's architectural explanation I must be thinking gothic. All that aside, what a dramatic shot. So much to see. Outstanding.
