Captured 4/5/12, at the beautiful El Dorado Nature Center in beautiful Long Beach, California.
Yup, these guys are not too reticent when it comes to mooching. At least it stopped to pose for me. I should have had something to give it in appreciation. And, it is essentially the same color and texture as the surroundings.

the squirrel has clarity and fine texture. Fine detail in its prickly coat. And I know that pose---city squirrels are quite comfortable asking humans for food, and they'll stand there till you give them something (or until they tire out). They're not frightened...You got that pose, alright. And I esp love the way he harmonizes with his background (as you point out), and could almost be camouflaged by it. Your pic shows the overall brownish-beige hues and textures as much as it does the squirrel. And it's a wonder creatures like this survive in such drought. Scintillating shot with lots of fine detail.

You'll have to learn to take a little sandwich bag of birdseed or peanuts with you when you go out, Harry, to be prepared for these opportunities! He's a cheeky little guy, and quite handsome too!

I love it also... Marvelous capture !!!

Oooh, nice! Posing for you - lucky you! But, as you say, half tame! Keep up the good work! :-)

A very cute squirrel! He posed very nicely for you and in this setting he has got that camouflage down pat!
